my year in facebook statuses

Facebook has an app that creates a collage of your year in status updates. However it doesn't seem to capture every post and I think it might even have an inbuilt censoring thing happening - you know, filtering out posts with 'inapproproate words'. So I created my own!
My Year in Status 2009

Julia has bought a car! A NEW car!!! Is thinking about going to the beach. It's glorious out there. Is trying to get rid of stuff! Big CD sort is a start. Is smelling the rain! Who really cares what other people think about? Just spent all Saturday night and most of today watching True Blood with my sister.......and loving it!!!!!! I wanna snog a vampire! Lust is an addiction far worse than smack!!! I just wasted 2 precious hours of my life watching a totally nothing film! Hate that!
Soooooooo excited about a wedding tonight!!!!! The last truly romantic gesture - a 'ding! Apparently babies and early toddlers become brand conscious via the 'drool factor'!!! Scary! I'll explain more another time.
Hate needles so this probably the closest I'll ever get to having a tatt!

Not a lot on my mind and it feels sooooooooooooooo good! Must be the Tapping kicking in. Lovely birthday! Friends made it so. Mwa Mwa (aka kiss kiss) to them!!! Just booked a ticket to Tokyo!! OOOOeeee! But not going til March! Anyone got any hot tips??? Thinks that daughters shouldn't have to mother their mothers! Julia took the Which mathematical function are you? quiz and the result is Riemann Zeta Function: Z(z) 'Mystery and wonder are your "prime" delights in life. You seek to apprehend all the hidden, complex patterns in the universe. Some think you are quirky, but they just don't understand you: they have not learned to think outside the box, as you have. You are a misunderstood genius.' Hmmmmmmmmm - yeah ! I think this reveals the hidden me - the Jools that dwells in the place that no-one sees. [Yeah! Right! Though I do seek to apprehend all the hidden complex patterns in the Universe. Truly!] Is coughing and spluttering her way through the grand final. Will I ever feel well again???????? Absolutely BRILLIANT! (re: YouTube video Music for one apartment and six drummers). Is LOVING this online ICT course she is doing but it does tend to make her a little 'reclusive'. Kicked a football around today and was taught how to hold the ball 'properly' by a 4 year old! Cheeky monkey! I adore this guy! If you've seen it already - WATCH IT AGAIN! We should have a Where the Hell is Matt? event this summer. Is supposed to be studying but is procrastinating! Loves having a Monday off! Annual leave not a bogus sick day so I could go to RMIT gym and not feel paranoid! Loves the Waldorf Diner in Fitzroy Street! Janey and Jools ( and Ziglet) drinking champers and eating oysters in 'gran's parlour'. Is already feeling the sun on her skin and the sand underfoot! Ah summer - bring it on. (P.S.Happy Birtdhay Jason!) Feels weird sometimes -what can she say? Spent all day at the pool party at Prahran Pool! GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is enjoying the view of the Target symbol...........oh! It is a TARGET!!! Doh! I ........... am............. so ..............................SLOW! (Also - and more importantly- praying for the twins who have just been separated in Melbourne. How amazing!). Is still on Team Edward although he was a little 'wet' in New Moon . If truth be told, were I 13 I'd probably be a Team Jacob girl! Had a few fab days in Sydney. HHDL is in town and it was great! Bought her first 'Tokyo' book today. Ooooo! Needs to de-clutter! Needs to get the hammock happening! Who has a drill?

To my tribe, sending you and your family and friends, love and light for the Festive Season and beyond and may 2010 reveal itself as a jewel. Xxxxxxxxx
Ah - life reduced to one liners! Surely 2009 was richer than this?

I am a............................

Someone who studies the shape of people's heads as a way of finding out what their characters and abilities are;popular in the 19th century

A practitioner of the science of picking the pocket through the scalp. It consists in locating and exploiting the organ that one is a dupe with.(http://www.alcyone.com/)

In 1989 while visiting the UK, I was given a 'mystery' birthday gift. It was a session with one of these practitioners. She claimed she was the only fully qualified represnetative of the science in the UK at that time. The session was amazing!

bats at sunset

The last scraps of sunset are fading and the bats are winging homeward. Life is good!

Rainbow Serpent Festival

Gary wondered about the freaky Barbies in the cage (see previous post).
I saw them at this Festival. The video gives an idea what it's like. I go every year over the Australia Day weekend with friends and their little kids and we all LOVE it!
Can't wait for 2010! We bought our tickets in September.

I'm in love!

I'm loving blogging! I could become very boring in the next few months and spend a lot of time here.

Yet..........it makes we realise (again) we live in such voyeuristic , narcissistic times. Blogs, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter. mobiles etc etc. All this technology cries out "I'm here! Look at me! Look at me!"

Are we alive if there is no one to witness our every waking moment?

It's as if we can't stand to be alone and in our own space in our own skin 100% in the present - unobserved.

OOOOOOOOH - a bit heavy but ....it's how I feel sometimes.

adding a video

Ok - here's where I add a video - task 9.4 for week 9 of our course (I've already added an image,)
Thought I'd add a video about RSS (pre-empting task 9.6).
I love the Common Craft video tutorials. They are really clear and unfussy - love the lo-tech presentation too.

my third post

I can really see the usefulness of blogs in the classroom. Loved this sentence by one of Burcu's students, Damla, on her class blog :

I felt hungry when my stomach's bell rang.

The thing then is to enthuse our teachers about this tool and provide solid training to support that enthusiasm.

my second post

I love where I live! East St Kilda is about 10 kms from the CBD. My flat is opposite a park.
All day today I could hear (and see) children having a great time on the swings and climbing net and the other stuff that is there to climb on, hang from and swing and jump on.

My balcony is small - just big enough for two people to sit in deck chairs or to lie on mats. A silver birch grows it the garden below and today as I lay on the blacony I looked up at a bright blue sky through a fringe of silver leaves. Gorgeous!

The flat downstairs went to auction yesterday. It sold for $471,000!!! Property prices are ridiculous!

I hope my landlord doesn't sell my flat. As I said, I love living here.

first post

This is the first post on my blog!

I always meant to set up a blog but it was only when I had to do it as part of the ICT course with The Consultants-E (great course -free plug! ) that I finally got round to it.

So to start........today I spent most of the afternoon on my balcony, in the sun - reading my book (La's Orchestra Saves The World), painting my toenails (bright orange, as always) and drinking wine. Not earth shattering stuff but............... so pleasant.
